- Retailers should know what category does best for them, and merchandise to emphasize it. “For us, earrings definitely are a best-seller,” says Brandon. “We know that people buying gifts aren’t likely to pick out a ring, because they probably don’t know what ring size their recipient wears. Earrings have proven to be a great gift option, and our customers love them.” In this case, the retailer should present earrings prominently and group them accordingly within each collection.
